What is the business of Digital Women? Digital Women (http://www.digital-women.com) is an international network for women in business. Founded in 1998 in Aledo, Texas by graphic artist Rebecca Game, Digital Women began as a site on the World Wide Web and was designed to provide resources, information and support for businesswomen worldwide. Digital Women - The Website The cornerstone of Digital Women is the Digital Women website, an online community that provides tools such as businesswomen's listings, newsletters, business, sales and marketing tips and start up business ideas. The Internet group has over 700 mail list members, 6000 newsletter subscribers and lists over 1200 woman-owned businesses in its directory. Digital Women has over 15,000 members across the U.S. as well as in Canada, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, England, India, Trinidad, Argentina, Spain, Egypt, Italy, Scotland, Africa, China and Pakistan Who Are Digital Women? Digital Women are women who are involved
in the business world. While some Digital Women own and work in their
own businesses, the group also welcomes women who are employed by others
and have an interest in business issues. Digital Women are
mothers, daughters, grandmothers, wives and sisters. The women of
Digital Women range in age from 18 - 70 come from a wide range of backgrounds
and have varied business, professional and personal interests. The one
common denominator of Digital Women is that they all possess a desire to
learn and share business information. They are also women who are tired
of working for a paycheck that has little ability to get much bigger. They
want to create a life where they are financially independent through their
own efforts.
Do I have to been on the Internet to be a member of Digital Women? Up until this point, all members of Digital
Women have joined
through the Digital Women website. While a percentage of
women do operate e-commerce businesses, many others are involved in more
traditional ventures and use the Digital Women website as a resource and
networking tool.
