Women In Defense, A National Security Organization established the HORIZONS Scholarship to encourage women to pursue careers related to the national security and defense interests of the United States and to provide development opportunities to women already working in national security and defense fields. IFUW and its national affiliates help to build the future by offering fellowships and grants to enable women and girls to achieve their educational goals. While the numbers of women entering university now equals or exceeds that of men in some countries, in other parts of the world a university education is beyond the reach of most women. For many women, a primary or secondary education remains an unattainable dream. Even where parity at the level of the first university degree has been achieved, there is still a pyramid effect. The numbers of women begin to dwindle dramatically in advanced degree courses and women are significantly underrepresented in many of the scientific and technological fields that lead to the higher paying professions in today's world.
The Jeannette Rankin Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for, and awarding grants to, low-income women, ages 35 and older. Most recipients are in truly meager financial circumstances and may have other hardships or disabilities.

Scholarships provide individuals with the tools to help them regain their self-esteem through a college education and continuing education grants. They also distributes direct assistance grants, to non-profit organizations aligned with R.O.S.E.’s mission, on an annual basis.
