How to Search the InternetSuccessful Internet Search Tips and Techniques to Maximize Your P.R.by Jerrilynn Thomas
Researching the Internet for vital P.R. information can be a thrilling experience. There are so many places to submit your press releases free of charge and fee based sites with extensive media lists. The Internet can help you build and maintain your media list. You can research business publications to find out who their editor is and what their writers guidelines are. Keep in mind that it is a time consuming task. Successful Internet searches are dependent upon the search words you use. Try individual searches using the words press release submission, writers guidelines, publicity, business discussion groups, business ezines, and business publications to find P.R. and media sources. A few of the free sites that I recommend include Web Wire, PR Web, Home Business Journal, db Business, and Press Direct. I've visited them and found them to be easy to use. Choose a press release submission service based upon their media list and their ability to match your press release up with the appropriate publications. Targeting the media is just like targeting prospective customers. Beware of companies that send out press releases to all of the publications on their media list. You will only be paying to have your press release put in the trash. Don't fret if you can't afford to hire someone to write and submit your press releases to the media. Once you have gathered your media sources, it is important to research the types of articles they contain. Submit a brief letter or email to the editor to inquire if they would like to receive a press release from you. Tell them about the articles topics you specialize in. Remember it is important to write about topics you feel most familiar with to ensure you won't struggle every month to generate fresh articles. Research the types of articles placed on the free press release submission sites. Find the ones that really capture your attention. Use them as a guide to determine your writing style. Take advantage of the business discussion groups by being an active participant. Keep your business in front of the members on a daily basis. Fine tune your press release by visiting the Smart Idea Site, Promotion World, Press-Release- Writing.com, or New World Webdex to research how to write one that is newsworthy. Don't submit your first draft. Edit your press release until all of the unnecessary words and phases are eliminated. Write and submit a new press release every month. If you really want to make P.R. work for your business, you have to be in consistent in getting your business news in the hands of the media.
