How
To Be Successful in Voice Skills

|
Many people believe that they are born with the voice they use. This is not true. A voice is a habit in that you pick up mannerisms of speech which are influenced by the sounds around you. If you change your environment it is likely that your manner of speech will change as you absorb new sounds, expressions, rhythms and tones. Many people underestimated the ability they have to get the voice they want
It is estimated that 38% of your effect on others comes directly from the way you sound- your voice. Therefore spend time on learning how to enhance your vocal skills. You will discover this is a relatively easy thing to do. I have been training people for years and know that this is easily accomplished within as few as 5 lessons.
If you want to begin working on your voice at home, improve your expression with reading exercises and start to consciously put more expression into your day to day interactions with colleagues and friends. Become aware of your vocal range and if you feel that people have difficulty hearing you, speak up. Practice telling jokes because the successful joke depends on timing. This will develop your use of pause. And finally listen to someone whose voice you admire and ask yourself 'what is that you like?' Once you've been able to identify those qualities, start incorporating them into your voice.
Remember your voice is your greatest unused asset. Learn to use it and maximize it's potential.
