How To Work at Home

"The decision to stay at home vs continuing a career outside the home"

I have discovered a greater meaning of my peripheral vision, as a mother. Becoming a mother has helped me ascertain much joy. The experience has significantly assisted my growth in ways I never thought imaginable.  My visions had to expand once I consciously accepted my new role in life.  What is truly important and what sincerely matters in the big picture?  This article is a source of encouragement for new moms deciding whether to continue a career or stay at home with a new baby.  If the latter is financially feasible, I highly recommend the personal sacrifice of succeeding in a career to stay home to accept the rewards of raising your child.

Since I graduated from the University of Georgia with my accounting degree in August 1990, I always believed that when I had a baby, I would continue to strive to succeed in my accounting career.  However, once our son arrived, I succumbed to what I knew in my heart was my purpose as a mother.  The decision was painstaking, do not think it will be easy to release financial independence and self-worth as a corporate woman.  You must find it within your soul to realize that this time in your life is so short in the realm of it all and your child's life is the outcome of this decision.

Ultimately, my peripheral vision, as a stay at home mom, let me look outside and venture into the unknown.  I began developing web sites and have redirected my energy from feeling like I am wasting my college education into how else can I learn and grow, as I stay home with this wonderful child to fulfill my personal needs.  Remember, what is important today is not always what makes your life complete in the end.  As I noted, I know all moms do not have the opportunity to make this complicated decision, as financial needs obviously have to be met.  I am blessed that I can stay home and oh so thankful that it was placed on my heart to do so.

A Moms Love
